Position Overview


We are a boutique two-attorney elder law firm committed to providing compassionate, personalized, and high-quality legal services to our clients. We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join our Westfield, New Jersey office on a full-time or part-time basis.
The ideal candidate will have a strong legal administrative background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality.


Key Responsibilities


Manage and maintain attorney calendars, including scheduling client appointments, meetings, and court appearances.
Coordinate communications with clients, courts, and other legal professionals.
Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
Prepare, format, edit, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and other materials.
Maintain accurate client files and assist with document organization and case management.
Track important deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks across multiple legal matters.
Provide general administrative and office support to attorneys and staff.


Qualifications


Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar legal administrative role.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities with the capacity to prioritize multiple assignments and deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
High level of attention to detail, discretion, and professionalism.
Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced legal environment.
